Getting Ready for Allegan

"The world of reality has its limits; the world of imagination is boundless" Jean-Jacques Rousseau.
Dan & I are getting ready to do the Allegan Antiques Market this weekend. Set up and early buyers are Saturday and then regular admission is Sunday (the 31st) Hours are 7:30 am - 4:00. Over 400 dealers inside and out, rain or shine. Our space is outside in the hopeful sunshine! www.alleganantiques.com
I just thought that I would share with you some of the items that I have been making ( a tease! ) for the show from vintage pieces. We are into assemblages ( we'll see if that really is a word when I hit spell check!) and their pieces, vintage buttons, typewriter keys, Scrabble letters, blocks, vintage prints, and ephemera, fabrics, keys, architectural pieces etc.
We have been collecting some wonderful old lamps, garden items and oh wait till you see what Dan's doing! He is creating the most fascinating and wonderful one of a kind pieces of furniture. Alright I may be a little bias!
We would love to see you, so please stop by, get inspired and say hi!

Designer Fabrics Now Available @ Blue Door

I now have made many of my fabric sample books available to you @ Blue Door on Fulton Street. This "PINK" door (would you expect anything else from me! ) display has sample books on both sides. You are welcome to check them out and take them home to look at them and place the order for the yardage right there through David or Joel. There is an everyday discount for the yardage as well. If you would like my assistance with them as always I am more than happy to help. There are really great prints here, textures, stripes, plaids, solids, linens, and outdoor fabrics.
This is start of making my library more assessable to you on an everyday basis. Please give my your feedback on what else you would like to see here, carpet, rugs, wallcovering, lighting or furniture catalogs.
So go check it out and let me know your opinion!

Brocante-Bluedoor

We are resting today from our day at Brocante yesterday.
We got a little rain first thing in the morning and had some winds that almost took a few tents down. The day turned sunny by the afternoon although we continued to fight with the wind all day. At one point CJ had a very exciting moment when a china cabinet in our booth blew over and took her and about a quarter of the booth with it. Fortunate, she is okay but a little sore today. Thank you to all of you who came to her rescue.
We did have a great time meeting new people. At any show you have familiar faithful friends, dealers and customers that you get to see and chat with. But, than there are all the new people(dealers & customers) that you meet. Plus, it is wonderful so see the product that everyone brings. All in all, it makes for a grand adventure and down right good time.
Despite the unpredictable and blustery weather we did have good sales. Thanks to all of you who purchased treasures from us and braved the elements. I think that we even got a little sun on our face. We plan on being there again next month and are presently planning for the next Allegan on the 31st. See you all there!

Centerville

Cj & I went to Centerville antique market on Sunday. We went to collect ideas, see if we could find new product and just have fun. We managed to find a few things we have already put at Eastown Antique mall and Bluedoor. In addition we found a few things we will bring along with us to Allegan Antique Market when we set up at the last Sunday of the month. We had great fun talking with other dealer's and treasure hunting on such a beatiful sunny day.
